God’s Wisdom, Knowledge & Understanding

We need God’s wisdom not our own.  We need His knowledge not our knowledge.  We need to not rely upon our own understanding, but have the understanding and mind of Christ.  In order to know the will of God and to fulfill God’s will we must have God’s wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  It says in Job 12:13 NLT “But true wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are his.”

We have been taught to be so self-reliant and to look to our own way of thinking that it has become foreign for people to look God for what He thinks and feels about their lives.  Father God has desires and plans for your life that He wants you to fulfill.  As children of God, as His sons and daughters He wants us to look to Him as our Father for guidance to lead the way.  Just as a young child looks to his/her natural father for guidance to tell them what is right and what is wrong and what he/she should and should not do, our Father in Heaven desires us to look to Him for direction/wisdom and advice.  It says in James 1:5, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

Our society has raised us to be self-dependent and to not need anyone, but God wants us to dependent upon Him.  God wants us to need Him and to look to Him.  God cares for each one of us and He wants to give us His wisdom, His knowledge and His understanding so that we would fulfill and achieve the plans He has for our lives.  One thing I have seen in my own life is when I pray and seek the will of God for my life with that comes blessings and favor.  I have found that when I seek the will of God for my life I am the most satisfied when His will is accomplished in my life, I am truly fulfilled.  In Ephesians 1:8 NLT it say, “He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.”

My desire is to gain more of God’s wisdom, more of God’s knowledge and more of His understanding so that I can achieve the things He wants me to accomplish on the earth.  I believe just as we pray Matthew 6:10, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven,” I believe the way we see God’s will done on the earth is to have the wisdom, knowledge, understanding and the mind of God.  My prayer is that we would all know God’s will for our lives and what He wants to do on the earth.  That we would all grow in His wisdom, knowledge and understanding so that we would all truly be transformed more into the image of God.
