Hell is Real & Jesus is the Way to Eternal Life.

I felt an urgency from God to share about the reality of hell. I want to start out by saying I do not desire people to go to hell, that is why I want people to know Jesus so they don’t go to hell. I believe God does not want anyone to perish, but He wants the world to chose Him just like it says in ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬, “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” God loves the entire world and He wants people to know Him and experience His love and eternal life that is found only in Jesus just like it says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

I felt a stirring from the Lord to share hell is real and to share what the Bible says about it. What I believe has happened in the church is that in the past there were many preaching about hell in a very condemning way which lacked the love of God for people and it has caused many pastors and ministers to stop preaching about hell. I believe many ministers have not wanted to look condemning in the same way of the fire and brimestone preachers so many no longer preach about hell. What the Lord has been speaking to me is it is essential for the body of Christ and the world to understand that hell is real and it is eternal, so people do not go there. It is obviously not a comfortable topic to talk with people about, which has made me hesitant in the past to want to share about hell, but the Lord challenged me and gave me a revelation of the fact that those who do not know Jesus and go to hell, they would have wanted everyone to do whatever possible to warn them about hell so they would have never had to endure it. The Lord said to me that if the body of Christ, ministers and pastors never talk about hell then how will the world know it exists and how will people avoid going to hell? One of the many reasons we introduce people to Jesus is for people to know and experience the love of God, to receive the forgiveness and acceptance of God, to encounter a relationship with God & His Presence and healing and power, to gain entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven and have eternal life and to not go to hell.

If the body of Christ, ministers and pastors preach that people must be saved and know Jesus and they never preach about hell then how are people supposed to know what they are being saved from and why they need to be saved? Jesus is the Savior to the whole world because He saved us from the consequences of our sins, which is hell by being fully God and becoming a man born of the virgin Mary, living a perfect and sinless life, sacrificing of His life on the cross to make atonement for the sins of the world and by raising from the dead. (Matthew 26, 27, & 28). In 2 Corinthians 5:21 it talks about Jesus being sinless by saying, “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” It also says in 1 Peter 2:22 that Jesus, “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” In Hebrews 4:15 it tells us, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet He did not sin.” It also says in 1 Peter 1:19, “For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” It is through our belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ and His atonement of our sins that we are saved and our sins are forgiven, without the blood of Jesus atoning for our sins and His forgiveness of our sins we are not saved from hell because our sins have not been forgiven. The punishment for our sins not being forgiven is hell. Thankfully Jesus has the power to forgive us of our sins just like it says in Luke 7:48, “Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” Our sins must be forgiven by Jesus in order to experience eternal life in Heaven with God and not go to hell.

If you are reading this and you do not know Jesus then my prayer is that you would come to know God the Father, who is your Creator and Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God and the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God. God desires a relationship with all of humanity and Jesus is the key to knowing God the Father, experiencing eternal life in Heaven and not going to hell. Jesus said in John 14:6-7, “I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me…” It is from that verse that we know Jesus is the way to eternal life in Heaven with God the Father. It also says in Romans‬ ‭10:9-10‬, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” So my prayer is that Jesus would become so real to everyone reading this and you would know the love, the forgiveness and acceptance of Jesus Christ for you and you would encounter eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven and not go to hell.

I also wanted to share what the Bible says about hell. I believe it is essential to base our understanding of hell off the Word of God and not based off the opinions and teachings of man. The Bible is the Word of God and it is truth, so if we want to know the truth about hell then we need to see what God has spoken to us about it through His word. My prayer is that the body of Christ, ministers and pastors would begin sharing from the Word of God what God says about hell and that we would no longer be silent about this. I believe God has given many in the body of Christ a revelation of His love, mercy and forgiveness and people can share about hell from a place of love for people, not from a place of condemnation, but a desire for the world to know Jesus so they never go to hell.

Below are Scriptures in the Bible on Hell:

Matthew 10:28 Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Matthew 13:37-42 “Jesus said, the Son of Man is the farmer who plants the good seed. The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one. The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world and the harvesters are the angels. Just as the weeds are sorted out and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the world. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 13:47-50 Jesus said, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net that was thrown into the water and caught fish of every kind. When the net was full, they dragged it up onto the shore, sat down, and sorted the good fish into crates, but threw the bad ones away. That is the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked people from the righteous, throwing the wicked into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

John 3:36 “And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

2 Peter 2:4,6. “4 For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment…God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. 6 He made them an example of what will happen to the ungodly people.”

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 “Jesus will come with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.”

Matthew 5:22 Jesus said, “But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.”

Matthew 5:29 Jesus said, “So if your eye, even your good eye causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”

Matthews 7:13 Jesus said, “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

Matthew 25:33-34, 41, 46. “33 Jesus will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 41 Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. 46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

Matthew 8:11-12 Jesus said, “And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. 12 But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 10:32 Jesus said, “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.”

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Matthew‬ ‭23:33‬ Jesus said, ‭“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?”
‭‭
Matthew 24:50-51 Jesus said, “The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 25:30 Jesus said, “Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Revelation 20: 12-15 “I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.”

Revelation 14:9-11 “Anyone who worships the beast and his statue or who accepts his mark on the forehead or on the hand must drink the wine of God’s anger. It has been poured full strength into God’s cup of wrath. And they will be tormented with fire and burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb. The smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever, and they will have no relief day or night, for they have worshipped the beast and his statue and have accepted the mark of his name.”

Revelation 19:11-21 “Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood and his title was the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Then I saw an angel standing in the sun shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: come gather together for the banquet God has prepared. Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great. Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gather together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshipped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies.”

Luke 16:22-31 “The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.”
