The Love & Judgment of God
I wanted to start out by saying I love the love of God more than anything on earth! The love of God is so amazing and powerful, it is what I long for each day to experience God, His love and His Presence. I believe every human being was created with a longing for the love that comes from God, their Creator and Father and from Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit. I believe no human love or affection satisfies like the love of God does. I believe every person will feel empty inside if they have not experienced the love God has for them. I believe God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit want people to know them through relationship so they can pour out their love upon them.
I wanted to share about the love and judgment of God because the judgement of God seems to be a topic that has been being talked about lately. I want to start out by saying I do not wish the judgment, wrath or anger of God upon anyone, my heart is that everyone would repent and turn to God so they do not have to experience the judgment, wrath or anger of God. I take it very seriously and my heart is from a place of love for people to know and experience the love of God and not the judgment of God. I spent years studying about end-times and many scriptures that include the judgment and wrath of God while I was in the house of prayer in Atlanta. When I first learned these scriptures it was very difficult and hard for me to embrace because it is scary and sad and not what you want to think or talk about. Over time I got to a place where I just surrendered to the fact that God is sovereign and He is in control over all humanity, the earth, every living thing, the universe, over the demons and angels and I am His daughter and I want to be in agreement with God’s will and whatever it is that God does even if its hard. I know many ministers and have seen in the body of Christ that many do not believe or preach the judgment of God and I have heard some say they do not believe in the anger or wrath of God after the old covenant ended and the new covenant began. Again I do not wish the judgment, wrath or anger of God on anyone I desire people to repent and turn their lives over to Father, Jesus & Holy Spirit and not experience God’s judgment.
I wanted to share scriptures judgment of God from the New Testament and new covenant, which means they were written after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. One of the first scriptures that God has used to speak to me about the judgment of God that is in the New Testament, under the new covenant is written by Paul. Paul is the one who has written so much about the grace of God and many ministers who do not believe in the judgment of God and only preach grace, they use all the things Paul has written about grace in the scriptures, but they either chose to ignore what Paul says about the judgment of God or they don’t believe what he says.
Here is the scripture that Paul wrote in Romans 2:4-10, “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. He will judge everyone according to what they have done. He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness. There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile. But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.”
This scripture is a very sobering scripture because it reveals the fact that God does pour out judgment, anger and wrath. My heart’s desire is for people to repent of their sins and give their lives over to Jesus so they do not experience God’s judgment, anger and wrath. My desire is for people to know and encounter the love of God and not His judgment. We know through the scripture I just mentioned that in order to receive eternal life and not receive God’s judgment requires us to turn from our sin, not live for ourselves, obey the truth which is the Word of God found in the Bible and not live lives of wickedness. I believe the only way we can obey the truth, do good and not live lives of wickedness is through a relationship with Father God, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us while on the earth that He is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. We also know that the Bible says that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He raised from the dead that we will be saved and we will have eternal life in Heaven with God the Father.
This is why I have a heart for evangelism and to see people come into a relationship with Jesus. I want people to encounter and know the love of God, to feel His Presence and to spend eternity with God in Heaven. I feel gripped over the reality of hell, the judgment, wrath and anger of God and I don’t want people to go to hell and I don’t want people to experience God’s judgment, wrath and anger. I believe it is important for believers and ministers to not just believe in parts of the Bible, picking and choosing, but we must believe in all the Bible. As believers, the Bible is the Word of God and it is truth and we must believe all of what God has spoken to lead and guide us to the truth of God and His ways.
