The Word of God is Truth

Jesus is the Word of God and everything He has spoken to us through His Word (The Bible) is truth. John 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” The Word of God is so powerful because it is the words of God spoken to mankind. Jesus declares that the Word of God is truth in John‬ ‭17:17 when Jesus said, “Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.” Jesus goes on to say, “And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth” John‬ ‭17:19‬. It also says in John‬ ‭8:31-32 that “Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ‭‭ 2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” It also says in Hebrews‬ ‭4:12-13,‬ ”For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” The reason the Word of God is alive and powerful is because Jesus is the Word of God and by reading the Word of God we are connecting with God who has spoken these truths.

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:1-4 says, “I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”

I pray each person reading this will experience God in a deeper way and will experience the power and truth found in the Word of God.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word. Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭4:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:12-14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:25-26‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. And I have been chosen as a preacher and apostle to teach the Gentiles this message about faith and truth. I’m not exaggerating—just telling the truth.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:3-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth. So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist. Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:20-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:13-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬
My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:1-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“You love evil more than good and lies more than truth. Interlude” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭52:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed! Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down from heaven.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭85:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“Lord, give me your unfailing love, the salvation that you promised me. Then I can answer those who taunt me, for I trust in your word. Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope. I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever. I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:41-45‬ ‭NLT‬‬
